Seven Guitar Strap: This strap represents the 7 deadly sins.

A capital vice is one that has an excessively desirable end, so much so that in its pursuit, a person commits many sins, all of which originate from that vice as their main source. The seven deadly sins are those to which human nature is primarily inclined. —Thomas Aquinas.

The vices can be categorized according to the virtues they oppose, or they can be referred to as the deadly sins, as distinguished by Christian experience following St. John Cassian and St. Gregory the Great. They are called "capital" because they generate other sins and vices: pride, greed, envy, wrath, lust, gluttony, and sloth.

This strap was conceived, designed, and created by multidisciplinary artist Xenia Grey. Below are her own words, explaining the motivation and interpretation behind each drawing, conceived as individual and independent:

Pride: Pride and arrogance are deadly for our spirit. They harden our hearts and lead us to hypocrisy, seeking only external beauty and the appearance of success. What may seem satisfying is nothing more than a mask, a lie behind which hides our ego.

Lust: Do not covet outward beauty or be captivated by it. The passion of the flesh and impure desires are idolatry and lead to ruin.

Greed: It traps us with its claws, blinds reason, and exhausts the conscience. The more we have, the more we want, but it's never enough. Coveted fruits and ill-gotten treasures are never truly beneficial.

Sloth: You face life with indifference and negligence, without thinking or acting. Without movement, there is no life, and in this state, you waste away without purpose.

Envy: We covet the possessions and achievements of others with hatred, while our own accomplishments are desired by someone else. In this cycle, we forget who we truly are.

Gluttony: We eat without hunger and drink without thirst, indulging our palate with excess. This destroys both body and soul.

Wrath: Desperation and fear awaken fury, the desire for revenge, and violence. This destructive force knows no limits and leads to irreversible actions.
